The IBM fact is very intriguing, I do believe that in SOME aspects, working out of your home will be likely, ONLY technology based. Obviously doctors, salesmen, and laborers cannot work at home from a computer. The thought of working at home saves companies significant amounts of money on maintaining costs of buildings/electricity/oil/ etc... It is a very innovative way to save money while getting the same amount done, the only restraint is physical contact, if needed.

Beyond Technology
First of all, the Beyond Technology article is very provocative. "Truly educated people of the next century will not apply for jobs, they will create their own", this will definitely not be the case. There are only so many successful jobs out there, and the ratio of successful versus unsuccessful jobs that are created is very high.

You make some really good points dan. I read this article by strictly looking at the suggested educational changes, but the basic premise for that conclusion is faulted.
I agree with your response. Some occupations don't exactly thrive when they're computer based. How silly would it be for a doctor to work from home? Although some jobs do have the luxury of being done from a computer it doesn't apply to everything.
